I tested it out, and like any OCR it will depend on the font. On the font I used it against low res screen font it often put 2 or 3 spaces between most words and completely messed up on data like dates or random characters.

Because most of these commercial ones either 1 are way too expensive or 2 don't work properly i evaluated trial versions for some or 3 try to charge royalties for perpetual income for something that is very widely available I tried the aspose.
