Alan Adams alancrumbadams drcrumb. I'm having the same problem. It just says "Access Denied. No AV-software is installed on the workstation in this case. Using Vista Ultimate Ed. Will install Vista Business bit RTM in a couple of days just to check if this is an issue on pre-RTM versions which is removed in the final release. I've been having the same problem with the Vista preview client I've also been having the problem that it's being detected as an intruder login and it's getting to the point where it's locking me out.

When I go in ConsoleOne, the last intruder address is always one of our file servers. It's annoying because, like you said, it's not consistent--it's sporadic and hard to narrow down to a specific problem or task. Regardless of whether users are or are not supposed to be able to access these servers via CIFS. Just the first thing that comes to mind for seeing an unsolicited intruder lockout, citing a server-side IP address, but seemingly related to workstation activity.

Whether that has any bearing on the "access denied", or whether they're simply two separate issues, I'm not sure. Same problem here. I tried configuring this using the Login Profiles, but I cannot get it to take a default password. Even if I have a windows username with no password, the windows login prompt is displayed, with my default username already filled in, and an empty password field.

In addition to Alan's reply, note that the AutoAdminLogon account has to have a password assigned - AutoAdmin with a blank password doesn't work. Interesting point.
